Omo Baba alagunmu Oyan is a name given to me by people who knew my grandpa, a herbal medicine practitioner. Right now, I'm also practicing herbal medicine and I have established a company called Bioceutic Herbals enterprise registered with corporate affairs commission. It is a company that provides natural and herbal solutions to the ailments and diseases of mankind. The principles of healing practiced in this center is based on the herbal traditions of several herbal doctors in Yoruba land, some of which are late today. One of these doctors is my own grandfather, the reknown Baba Alagunmu Oyan of Osun State. He is a legend among herbal practitioners in OsunState and in South-west, Nigeria.

Who is Baba Alagunmuoyan?

Baba Alagunmu Oyan was a reknown herbal practitioner in his lifetime. He was well-known for his herbal powders (Agunmu yoruba) that he always pre-prepared and sold directly to patients and customers alike. His herbal powders were legends themselves for their potency and efficacy to the extent that other herbal practitioners came to buy from him to treat their patients. People came from both near and far (abroad e.g. U.S.A, Germany etc.) to buy his herbal powders. The most common ones are herbal powders for male sexuality and infertility (e.g. Aphrodisiac, penis erection and sperm boosters), pile (Agunmu Jedijedi), external haemorrhoid (Idi yiyo), nettle rash (narun),fever(Iba), gonorrhoea (Atosi), antibiotic (Aparun), rheumatism (Lakuegbe), etc.

He also prepared herbal decoctions (Agbo), herbal tinctures, and herbal soaps and herbal creams when consulted for specific ailments.

          I Dr. AdeosunAfolabi a.k.a. Moses Morgan, the grandson of Baba Alagunmu Oyan (Pa Elijah Oniosun) have studied the art of healing and preparing these herbal powders and other medicines directly from Baba before he passed away in the year 2007 at the age of 115 years. From Baba, I went for further training under the tutolage of late Iya Abike, a woman who specialized in the treatments of female conditions starting from infertility to pregnancy to birth (post-natal). The only thing I did not learn from mama was how to deliver a baby. From her, I learned how to treat women for infertility menstrual problems, breast problems, pregnancy care and post natal care. I also learned how to make a special womb cleansing ball from her that cleanses the womb, corrects menstrual disorders, sets the womb and restores normalcy to the functionality of the womb when inserted into the vagina (it starts working within 2-5 minutes of insertion).

          From her, I went to Baba Ilobu to learn how to properly treat conditions like diabetes and after that I went to Uncle Kenny, an herbal expert with wide range of experience in herbal medicine. I further deepened my herbal knowledge with the son of mama Abike (Uncle Jay) and my own very uncle (uncle Nathaniel). I also went to study herbal medicine under Baba Monjesi, a popular herbal practitioner in Ilorin.

          My knowledge of herbal medicines spans throughout all the south-western states of Nigeria, parts of south-south, parts of south-east and parts of the north.

          As I was going about my training in herbal medicine, I gained admission to the prestigious University of Ilorin to study biochemistry (purposely to understand the chemistry and science behind herbal medicines) and I also graduated and did my NYSC in Kaduna sate.

          Today, after a few years of working, I’m practicing clinical herbalism in an advanced and scientific way. No esoterism, mysticism, secretism or voodooism attached to my practice.
